In 2010. Martin got the news that he is suffering from a rare motor neuron disease. A muscular deterioration related to Lou Gehrig's disease (ALS), It gets progressively harder to walk grasp and breathe. Martin is fighting back against the indignity of being attacked by a sickness with unknown cause and cure by writing and performing a play about being newly disabled:
Camp Gimpy;
A Summer Training Program.

The only one of it's kind: at Camp Gimpy, the disabled can adjust to a new lifestyle through workshop, physical therapy, sensuality, sex and song. If you can't walk, talk or roll over, life can go on if you find the right party. A philosophy of pleasure to more than cope.
Script available upon request.

Ernie Pyle's War written and performed by Martin Treat, off-Bway 2005
